A man is in custody in North Carolina after he was accused of raping a 16-year-old girl in a Cobb County hotel, officials said. 

U.S. Marshals arrested Algeray McCall at an extended stay motel in Greensboro, North Carolina, on May 20, the Cobb Sheriff’s Office said in an Instagram post.

A South Fulton man was arrested Tuesday in the third case of possible human trafficking the city’s police department has investigated this month, officials said.

A 15-year-old victim was also rescued as a result of the investigation, South Fulton police said Wednesday on Facebook.

A 55-year-old Cartersville man was arrested on a child pornography charge Thursday morning after investigators received “numerous reports” about his online activity, authorities said. 

Armed with a warrant, members of the GBI, the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office, and Homeland Security Investigations searched the home of Preston Nichols before charging him with possession and distribution of child pornography, the GBI said in a news release.

A Columbus man has been sentenced to 136 months in prison and 20 years supervised release after he plead guilty to one count possession of child pornography following a 2018 investigation.

According to a news release from Charlie Peeler, the U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia, Donald McFall, 33, was convicted of sexual abuse in the second degree in the Circuit Court of Russell County, Alabama in 2015. In 2016, he was convicted for felony failure to register as a sex offender in Muscogee County Superior Court.

SOUTH FULTON, GA. — Police in South Fulton says a sex trafficking operation was discovered in a local home this week.

According to the City of South Fulton Police Department, on May 7 officers arrested the suspects and recovered three victims in a home believed to be involved in a sex trafficking ring.

A child sex-trafficking survivor was one of seven people freed from jail Friday as part of Ohio’s coronavirus response.

Alexis Martin, 22, had been convicted of murder at age 15, Cleveland TV station WJW reported. But Gov. Mike DeWine granted her clemency Friday and allowed for her release to a supervised home.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A stay-at-home order in effect in Florida because of the coronavirus outbreak isn’t stopping prostitution and sex trafficking from carrying on in Jacksonville.

News4Jax recently spoke with a woman seen flagging down passing cars on Philips Highway. The woman, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said she is working to keep food on the table and a roof over her head.
